I have no idea what I would do without my lifelong best friend and sister Alicia. She is truly that person other than my husband who knows every single thing about my life. There is nothing she doesn't know. Our moms were best friends and so naturally her and I became best buds when I was born (she's 9 months older than me). We have some great pictures of her and I as babies, she was always the petite one with beautiful long hair, and I on the other hand was bald and chubby as a baby. As we grew older she still remained the shorter petite gal with beautiful thick hair and nails (always jealous) and I was taller, not so great hair and nails. Despite her being smaller than me, she was a grade ahead of me and would ALWAYS stick up for me when others picked on me. I remember this group of mean, big girls that probably could take a lot of the boys in school, they were horrible to me, would wait in the hallway to be mean to me, and one day Alicia went and told them to leave me alone and they did. They were probably three times her size, but she didn't care. I am so thankful that from day one, she has always looked out for me and still does. :) We talk or text every day. We have been there for each other on our absolute worst and our absolute best days. We often joke that we were switched at birth or something because her mom is social, outgoing, loves to cook, have people over, etc., which is very similiar to me. Alicia and my mom however, never cared much for cooking, content to stay at home, and not much for entertaining and having people over. I am so thankful that God has shaped and molded our friendship before we were even born. I am thankful that no matter what, I can call her and she is there for me. She really is that friend who will drop everything. She dropped everything and met me at the funeral home when my mom passed away and we had to plan the funeral and identify her body, talk about hard stuff, but she was there. She left work and drove 3 hrs to be with me when I had my son, no notice, just a phone call that said, "Hey, they are inducing me in a few hours!" "I'll be there!"
She is one of the best moms I know, too! I always call her for advice since her boys are older then my kids. She literally is the most selfless person when it comes to her boys. I love her so much and am so thankful for her and her friendship! I know without a doubt we will grow old together and we will still meet a few times a year to shop and hang out in a hotel! Thank you God for this special friendship and for creating this wonderful person, Alicia!
